The Kiwanis Christmas Card Lane, the spectacular display of giant-sized Holiday Greeting Cards that have adorned the car path through Gilchrist Park every Christmas season in Punta Gorda is moving this year to Laishley Park. The life-sized cards prepared on behalf of local businesses and organizations (churches, civic groups, schools, clubs, charities) by professional or amateur artists will be elevated for display on December 3, 2011.
Cards can have religious or non-religious themes, and receive awards in various categories — like “most unique,” “most humorous” and “best of show. They can be prepared by amateur or professional artists or sign companies.”
All money that Kiwanis raise in the community goes back to the community. The entry fee is only $65. Organizations are encouraged to get their reservation in as early as possible for a place on the Lane which will remain at Laishley Park for the entire Christmas season.
